ACCLAIMED PHOTOGRAPHER JONATHAN IRISH TO SHOWCASE AMERICA’S NATIONAL PARKS AT IPW

Celebrated photographer Jonathan Irish will showcase his amazing photos of America’s national parks at IPW 2017 – the travel industry’s premier international marketplace – in Washington, D.C. on June 3-7, 2017. He will appear in the Great Outdoors USA zone which showcases national parks, forests and much, much more, and which highlights campaigns like FindYourPark and the magic of the America the Beautiful Pass.

The photos are part of “The Greatest American Road Trip” project, celebrating the National Park Service’s 100th birthday in 2016. Irish and his partner, Stefanie Payne, visited all 59 of America’s national parks in 2016 on assignment for National Geographic Travel with an Airstream trailer in tow and Fujifilm technology in hand, taking more than 335,000 photos across almost 48,000 miles of road and 219 trails in 46 states and territories. The photos have been featured on websites, Instagram, Twitter and more, as well as by major media outlets including National Geographic, Good Morning America, and the project’s website, www.thegreatestroadtrip.com.

Irish will share stories about his travels and answer questions about planning major outdoors adventures. His adventure will be recounted through pictures, videos and new 360° videos that can be viewed through virtual reality goggles – which will be demonstrated at the National Parks Promotion Council (NPPC) booth. Prints of his amazing photos will also be available.

Irish will soon be taking his show on the road! The Greatest American Road Trip will be showcased at presentations across the country. Plans are also underway for workshops at national parks designed to help amateur and professional photographers alike to better master landscape photography in our amazing national parks.

“Jonathan’s photographs are astonishing, captivating and inspiring,” said Terry MacRae, Chair of the NPPC. “What a wonderfully effective way to display the magnificence of our national parks – in all their amazing variety — to the international tourism industry.”
